I talk to a lot of business owners who are grinding toward that $3 million mark thinking once they get there, life's a bed of roses and everything falls into place.
I'm gonna be brutally honest with you. That doesn't happen.
In fact $3 million gross might be the hardest, most humbling place to be in business. Even harder than when you had nothing. Way harder than your first year.
I've watched it happen over and over and I've lived it myself in companies I own.
At $3M you have serious overhead. Real team members depending on you and constant pressure coming from every direction.
But... your margins haven't caught up yet. So you're doing more volume, taking more calls, managing more problems yet somehow taking home less than you were at half that number.
So how come no one told you about this?
Well that's the thing about business. There are levels to this game and every level has its own set of problems you cannot possibly see coming until you're standing right smack in the middle of them.
You can read every book and watch every video til you're blue in the face. But until you've been there, you don't know what you don't know.
That's exactly why the people you surround yourself with matters so much. Because the business owner sitting next to you has already been through what's about to blindside you.
They can see it coming before you can, they'll tip you off and show you ways to pivot you never would have thought of.
One conversation at the right time can save you years of pain. I've also seen that happen over and over again, and I got some amazing people who'll tell you that right here on video.
