I grew up watching my mom and dad play 'money roulette'.

That's what I called it.

They'd spread the bills out on the kitchen table... pass two, pick one. Pay that one. Throw the rest back in the pile and pray nothing got shut off.

That was small town Ohio. Trailer park life. Loving family but stressed to the max nonstop because of financial burdens.

I swore I'd never live like that.

Most business owners I talk with escaped the same poor households. They built the revenue. They make real money now.

But they still carry the same broken relationship with money right into their home. Just with bigger numbers.

Starts innocent enough with purchases they didn't need. Subscriptions they forgot they had. Then they start admitting to wild spending with no system.

Worst of all and I see this too often, spouses dipping into business funds and charging up credit cards. There's no clarity on what's actually going out the door every month.

Doesn't seem like a big deal when the numbers are big. That can change REAL fast.

That stress doesn't stay at home. It follows you into the office and makes you pissed off and irritable. You can't really open up to anyone. Then you start making bad decisions. You take on the wrong clients. Stay in bad deals.

You avoid facing the truth, just like avoiding bills. So you pick one thing to focus on and pray it's the right one. But all those other problems ain't going away.

You're thinking short-term when you need to be thinking long-term.

Your personal finances and your business finances are not two separate things. They're the same machine.

When the home is leaking, the business feels it. Every single time.

Get clear on both sides.

Where are you right now?
