I knew a guy in business 20+ years, already cleared eight figures. He and his sibling were partners. When an unexpected deal closed, they happily decided to split the cash evenly like always. He took his half immediately.

When his partner went to collect their half of the cash a few days later... the account was wiped out to zero.

The excuse given with a smirk was "I used that to pay bills. You should have taken it sooner."
